BFI will be holding a screening of Upstairs Downstairs followed by a Q & A with cast and the production team on 15 December. More info and updates at their website.
The hugely anticipated return of the legendary TV series Upstairs Downstairs takes viewers, old and new, back to the lavish world of 165 Eaton Place in Belgravia, London. A new set of occupants move into the iconic address, as storm clouds gather in Europe. The lives of the wealthy Holland family and their servants will never be the same again. ‬Followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with members of the cast and production team.
Jean Marsh and writer Heidi Thomas will be joined by cast members Adrian Scarborough, Art Malik and Anne Reid for the panel discussion following this preview. Broadcaster Sue MacGregor will chair the panel.
Broadcaster: BBC
The new Upstairs Downstairs logo can be seen in BFI Southbank’s page about the screening.
Hi to those who have come looking for information about the airdate. A fansite about the show, The Upstairs, Downstairs Web Pages mentions:
Aside from the location work, the interiors for upstairs and downstairs have been created in two studios (at Bridgend and Pontypridd) in Wales. The three 50-minute “pilot” episodes of the new series are probably expected to air across three weeks over Christmas (into New Year). Hopes are very high that a full series will go ahead, probably to spearhead the BBC’s autumn season in 2011.
A feature in the December issue of Marie Claire magazine mentions that there are plans to make it into a full series next year.
Clips of Upstairs Downstairs can be seen in BBC Drama’s Autumn/Winter 2010 trailer from last month:
