*Hotel! (Channel 5)

The whole thing has been posted on YouTube in five 15-minute episodes.

“I’d worked with Art Malik about 12 years ago.” from the Upstairs Downstairs press pack interview.

Hotel! was recently repeated on FIlm24 on 24 April.

Air Force One, carrying the President, is forced to land not far from The Nearby Hotel and Country Club in the heart of England. Was it an accident, or the work of Serbian Terrorist Zeigler and his stunningly beautiful sidekick Amanda Brown? Meanwhile, at The Nearby Hotel, love is in the air. Assistant Manager Ben Carter is smitten with Tricia, the danger-seeking receptionist. Hilton Gilfoyle, the hotel manager, has also fallen for her. Who will she choose? Ben is an ex-UN commando who fought in Bosnia, but Hilton is taking her on a hot date β€” a candlelit tour of a firework factory. The President, taking no chances, disguises himself and books into The Nearby Hotel. His CIA agents take no chances either and arrest any guest that admits to being a communist β€” but it doesn’t work. Amanda knows too much as she’s a reader of Terrorist Weekly, and she helps Zeigler and his cohorts to kidnap the President! This is a time for heroes. Who will outwit the terrorists, and rescue the staff and guests single-handedly? Will the President be saved, and will they prevent Zeigler from obtaining a password that would enable him to nuke the world?

Airforce One is forced to make an emergency landing at Little Ashford Flying Club – deep in rural England and the President of the United States and his entourage must take refuge in a nearby hotel.

Disaster ensues, in this classic comedy spoof, much to the horror of obsequious hotel manager, Hilton Gilfoyle. The president, hotel guests and staff are taken hostage by a group of Bosnian Terrorists.

The Head of Hotel Security, Ben, recognises their leader Radocheck Zeigler from his army career in Bosnia. With little help from local police and a group of CIA Agents it’s a race against time as Ben tries to outwit his old enemy.
