PS former model Keeley Hawes, who sizzled as the bigamous wife of Sir Fabian Ormerod in The Beggar Bride on TV last night, has proved to be a real disappointment to her London cab driver dad Tony and mum Brenda. Not because they’re not proud of her burgeoning acting career, but because she refuses to collect autographs for them.
Keeley, 21, also has a role in the new Avengers movie, out next year, and says: ‘My parents were thrilled when I got that part, especially when they knew Sean Connery was in the film. They begged me to get his autograph but I was too embarrassed — I couldn’t bring myself to ask him.’ A friend since childhood of Baby Spice star Emma Bunton, Keeley lives in Dulwich with a 28-year-old former male model called Kelly, but she has little time for the fashion world.
‘If you’re thin enough they’ll be your friend,’ she sniffs. ‘The film world is much more genuine.’
